EOC
Courses
Some high school classes at Georgia Connections Academy (GACA) include a required End-of-Course (EOC) state test. These EOC courses follow Georgia’s testing requirements and have specific grading, attendance, and assessment expectations.
What Are the EOC Courses?
Students enrolled in the following classes will take an EOC test when they complete the B section of the course:
-
10th Grade Literature and Composition (Lit & Comp II)
-
Algebra Concepts and Connections
-
Biology
-
United States History
When Is the EOC Test?
Most students will take the EOC in the spring testing window, after completing the B section of the course.
-
Spring EOC Window: May 4–8
-
Winter EOC Window: December 8–12 (select students only)
Mandatory testing is in person at assigned GACA testing sites. All students in an EOC course must take the state EOC assessment to receive credit for the class.
Grading and the EOC
The EOC test counts as 20% of a student’s overall grade in the B section of the course. It is essential for passing the class, earning course credit, and meeting graduation requirements.
Critical Course Tasks (CCTs)
Students in EOC classes will also complete Critical Course Tasks throughout the year. These are key assignments that:
-
Align to the most important course standards
-
Help prepare students for the EOC
-
Are graded and required
Teachers will give detailed instructions and due dates for each CCT.
Common Formative Assessments (CFAs)
Students in EOC courses are also required to take in-person Common Formative Assessments (CFAs), previously called Benchmarks, three times during the year. These are separate from the EOC but help monitor progress and guide support.

See the Common Formative Assessment page for testing windows and more details.

Mandatory Live Lesson Attendance
Live Lessons are required for all EOC courses. These sessions help students:
-
Understand the course content
-
Prepare for assessments
-
Ask questions and interact with teachers and classmates
Missing too many Live Lessons may affect a student’s grade and lead to required academic support.

See the Live Lesson Schedule for more details.
